National Psychology Community is inspired by the idea of United Nations Development Program of Sustainable Development Goals and emphasizing the idea of continuous contributions and innovations to uplift the standards of mental health. It is being curated by people from various sectors comprising of International organizations, Government Sector, Private Sector, NGO’s, Researchers, Academicians, Entrepreneurs, Scholars, Media and CSR.

It is emphasized from the idea of Our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Eight-point vision for the 21st century India. The Eight Point vision for the 21st century envisages India free from poverty, corruption, terrorism, communalism, asterism and uncleanliness and unite the entire country by adopting good governance and using technology.”

1. Create mentoring opportunities to assist emerging scholars and leaders in producing research proposals, publications.
2. Develop and strengthen relationships between researchers, academicians, entrepreneurs, scholars to promote community engaged research focused on minority mental health improvements.
3. To explore the avenues wherein psychological research can benefit the society in areas of relevance such as health, gender, education and other areas which fall under ambit of psychology.
4. To consider the need of implementing psychological principles to the aspirants who lack options and what measures should be considered to widen the spread of Application of psychology.

About IPSC-2020:

It is a matter of pleasure that NAPS, Dept. of Psychology, Arba Minch University, Ethiopia, and Jax Foundation, New Delhi jointly organizing IPSC-2020. Corona Crises has irreversibly changed the world we live in consequently 7th International and 9th Indian Psychological Science on 29th -30th October, 2020 via Virtual platform. 

Psychologists have the skills to impact behaviour of an individual up to societal level; the role of psychologists in complex modern human life is very significant. There are calls for a better ‘psychological’ understanding of modern society with its terrorism, crime, mental health, autism, learning disabilities, politics, education and trauma etc. 

The Psychologists in Corona Crises further proved its global significance and need of an hour to recognize the psychology profession for well being of humanity. Psychology is a unified science because psychologists of all perspectives agree that the issues must be addressed adequately for the welfare of humanity as society needs psychology and psychology needs society. 

In light of WHO’s definition of health “state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. In the Indian scenario, mental and social components of health are completely absent in our society. 

So, the Voices of Psychology is concern to restrict quacks’ and pseudo psychologists/counsellors amidst the rat race and prevailing sense of competition. There is an emergent need of an Independent Psychology Regulatory Authority namely “Psychology Council of India” or “Indian Psychology Council” which can regulate the profession ethics towards the sustainable development and self reliance. “We use psychology, we think for psychology”- Dr. Roshanlal  

About National Association of Psychological Science (NAPS):

National Association of Psychological Science (NAPS)- India was registered in 2010 to extend the psychological services and knowledge across the globe. A NAP is represented by its 20 State Coordinators across the country. NAPS is publishing bi-annual Research Journal “Indian Journal of Psychological Science ISSN-0976-9218 (UGC Approved: Emerging Sources Citation Index) in English.

The sole aim of IIPSC-2020 is to disseminate the emerging need of a legitimate platform of psychology profession to extend the manifold services for well being of the humanity. The budding psychology students, researchers and professionals could not get their due credits in abroad just due to lack of any regulatory authority in their respective country. 

Similarly within India also ethical bindings are lacking among so called counsellors and psychologists. So there is a dire need to built-up an independent agency under Ministry of Health so that the ultimate benefits of Mental Health Act-2013 are to reach up to the grass root level in true spirits. 

This event is specifically focused on the role and importance of psychology in Corona Crises and to disseminate the importance of regulatory agency needed to strengthen the skills and sustainability for self reliance. So we invite the global community, activists, researchers and students to submit their abstracts to be role model of the new generation.
